Job Summary
Workers Holdings is seeking qualified Security Guards to work on a part-time basis at venues in Midrand and Pretoria. This role involves both security operations and general cleaning duties, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for staff, clients, and visitors.
This is a great opportunity for individuals who are physically fit, responsible, and looking for flexible part-time work in the venue, event, or property management space.
Key Responsibilities
🛡️ Security Duties
- Control access to venues by checking IDs and screening visitors
- Patrol premises to prevent theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access
- Respond promptly to alarms and security incidents
- Enforce venue rules and maintain order during events or busy periods
- Report all security concerns or irregularities to supervisors or management
🧹 Cleaning Duties
- Clean and maintain venue spaces including restrooms, public areas, and entryways
- Ensure that all facilities are clean, hygienic, and well-stocked
- Follow cleaning schedules and perform assigned housekeeping tasks
- Assist with basic maintenance support as needed
🚨 Other Duties
- Assist with crowd control and traffic flow during events or peak times
- Report safety hazards, broken equipment, or maintenance concerns
- Adhere to all health, safety, and emergency protocols
- Cooperate with venue staff and other team members to support smooth operations
Minimum Requirements
🛡️ Security Qualifications
- Valid PSIRA Grade C registration (mandatory)
- Knowledge of basic security procedures and equipment
- Strong observation, communication, and report-writing skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle emergencies professionally
🧹 Cleaning Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of cleaning practices and equipment
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning and lifting tasks
- Good attention to detail and hygiene awareness
📋 General Requirements
- Matric / Grade 12 or equivalent (required)
- Valid Medical Certificate (proof of physical fitness)
- Basic computer literacy is a plus
- Must be able to stand or walk for extended periods
- Reliable and punctual, with a professional appearance and demeanor
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Work Conditions
- This is a part-time and shift-based role; availability on weekends, holidays, and evenings may be required depending on venue activity
- Locations will vary within Midrand and Pretoria
- Uniform and training may be provided, depending on assignment
