The Eastern Cape Department of Community Safety is seeking qualified and motivated individuals to join their team as Data Capturers under the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP). This exciting opportunity is based in the vibrant city of Bhisho, the capital of the Eastern Cape province.

The Data Capturer role is crucial in supporting the department’s data-driven initiatives and decision-making processes. As a Data Capturer, you will be responsible for efficiently collecting, recording, and managing a wide range of data from various sources, ensuring its accuracy and reliability.

Salary: R183,279 – R215,892 per annum (Level 04)

Requirements:

  • Education: National Senior Certificate (Matric)
  • Experience: No prior experience is required, but relevant exposure or skills in data handling, computer software, and record management would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge and Skills:
  • Proficiency in data analysis and handling raw data
  • Understanding of computer hardware and software management
  • Expertise in record and file management
  • Familiarity with form design and backup systems

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Data Capture: Systematically collect and meticulously record data from various sources into databases, tables, and spreadsheets.
  • Data Verification: Diligently identify and promptly correct any missing data or errors that may occur during the data entry process.
  • Data Management: Regularly back up data and maintain updated registers and statistical records to ensure the integrity and accessibility of information.
  • Record Keeping: Organize and secure records in a well-structured manner to ensure proper documentation and facilitate efficient retrieval.
