Intelligent Debt Management (IDM) is offering an exciting opportunity for unemployed graduates to apply for internships for the 2024/2025 period. The internship program is set in Cape Town, South Africa and offers a pathway for graduates to develop key skills and start their careers in financial consulting.

Internship Overview:

IDM is seeking intelligent, motivated graduates to join the Onboarding team as Financial Assessors, with the potential to advance to the role of Financial Consultant within 6 to 12 months. As a Financial Assessor, your role will be to engage with consumers who need financial assistance, assess their financial situation, and guide them through the available debt management solutions.

You will be the initial point of contact in a client’s journey, making you a crucial brand ambassador. Your ability to manage client expectations and respond quickly to inquiries will be key to your success in this role.

IDM will provide comprehensive training to prepare you for this role, ensuring you are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed.

Responsibilities:

  • Contact clients who have expressed interest in IDM’s services.
  • Gather and assess information about clients’ financial situations.
  • Make outbound calls to potential clients.
  • Engage clients through various communication platforms and channels.
  • Provide excellent customer service and set appropriate expectations for clients.
  • Transfer eligible clients to the Financial Consulting team for a detailed financial assessment.

Requirements:

  • National Diploma or Degree in a financial-related field such as Management, Finance, Business, Accounting, etc.
  • Prior experience in customer service or sales is advantageous.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Computer literate, with proficiency in Microsoft Office (advantageous).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a growth mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Motivated to progress into the Financial Consulting team.
  • Adaptable, resourceful, and well-organized.
  • Good time management, assertiveness, empathy, and active listening skills.
  • Goal-oriented with a desire to learn and grow.
