Job Requirements

To qualify for this position, applicants must have the following:

  • Education: NQF level 1 or 2 (ABET level 2 certificate or equivalent)
  • Skills:
    • Ability to read and write
    • Basic knowledge of food preparation
    • Understanding of hygiene principles
    • Ability to operate food service equipment
    • Good interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

As a Food Service Aid, you will be responsible for:

  • Kitchen Cleaning: Keeping utensils and equipment clean.
  • Catering Support: Assisting in preparing food, snacks, and beverages.
  • Meeting Room Services: Handling catering needs for boardroom bookings.
  • Food and Beverage Service: Serving meals and drinks to staff and visitors.
  • Stock Control: Monitoring food supplies and reporting wastage or losses.
  • Hygiene and Safety: Following hygiene and safety standards.
  • Garbage Disposal: Properly disposing of kitchen waste.
