Areas include:

• Greenstone

• Lenasia
• JHB South
• Alberton
• Vaal
• Vanderbijlpark
• Soweto
• Kempton Park
• Rosebank/Sandton/Fourways
• Dobsonville
• Alexander
• Heidelburg

Purpose of the Role:
As a Merchandiser, you will be responsible for creating appealing product displays within stores to encourage and facilitate higher sales volumes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Merchandising: Arrange product displays based on seasonal trends and promotional discounts to enhance customer appeal.
• Standards: Follow established merchandising standards to maintain consistency and professionalism in displays.
• Floor Plan: Set up displays in line with each store’s unique floor plan.
• Product Management: Remove damaged or outdated products and replace them with new stock, ensuring shelves are always full and appealing.
• Promotional Setup: Install banners, posters, and other promotional materials in the store to draw attention to specific products or discounts.
• Inventory Checks: Regularly monitor stock levels, display organization, and merchandising systems.
• Collaboration: Communicate regularly with store staff to update them on upcoming merchandising projects and timelines.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

• Order Volumes: Maintain and optimize product order volumes based on store needs.
• Shelf Packing Optimization: Arrange products efficiently to maximize shelf space and improve accessibility.
• Display Creativity: Use innovative approaches to enhance display aesthetics.
• Product Currency: Ensure that all products displayed are relevant, fresh, and in good condition.

Knowledge Requirements:

• Product Display Techniques: Understand visual merchandising strategies that attract customer attention.
• Sales Management Principles: Basic knowledge of sales processes and how merchandising impacts sales.
• Market Insights: Awareness of market trends and customer preferences.
• Marketing Principles: Familiarity with marketing concepts that influence in-store product placement.

Skills Required:

• Direct Selling: Ability to communicate product features effectively.
• Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Interpersonal Skills: Effective collaboration with store staff and management.
• Logical Thinking: Ability to make informed decisions about display organization.

Qualification and Experience:

• Matric (Grade 12): Minimum educational requirement.
• Driver’s License: Valid Code license required for travel between stores.
• Experience: 1 to 2 years of merchandising experience in a retail environment is essential.
